We are very much looking forward to launching our 2014/15 Edinburgh Queen’s Hall season on Monday 17 November at 7.30pm.
The opening concert, entitled Postcard from Paris is a programme inspired by the evolution of Paris as a city of music. It features Haydn’s Quartet Op 54 No 2 (published in Paris in 1789) and Debussy’s String Quartet Op 10 – a real favourite of the string quartet repertoire. After the interval we will be joined by guest pianist Simon Callaghan for the exciting Piano Quintet by César Franck – a Belgian composer who lived and worked in Paris.
The remaining two concerts of the Queen’s Hall series will take place on Wednesdays 18 March and 27 May with programmes entitled The First World War and Youth respectively.
Tickets £15; Concessions £12; Students £5; Children Free, available from the Queen’s Hall Box Office tel. 0131 668 2019, www.thequeenshall.net and at the door
