The Edinburgh Quartet are looking for one extraordinary string player from the UK's music colleges, universities and conservatoires to become our Apprentice for 2019.
Finalists are invited to a public audition day in Edinburgh to take over one of our player's seats and perform two contrasting movements form a set repertoire list. One winner will be chosen to join the Quartet for rehearsal, mentoring and performance opportunities throughout the year.
PUBLIC AUDITION EVENT - FREE
Join us at St. Cecilia's Hall, Niddry Street, Edinburgh, to watch and support our Apprentice finalists. Auditions will run all day on Sunday 3 February 2019, between 10:00 - 16:30, admission is free, and audiences can come and go throughout the day.
LUNCHTIME RECITAL - FREE
The Edinburgh Quartet will be performing a programme of varied short movements at a free lunchtime recital, half way through the day of auditions, at St. Cecilia's Hall on Sunday 3 February 2019 at 1pm. Admission is free, and audience members are encouraged to come along early, or stay on after the recital to support our apprentice finalists in their auditions.
